About the Exhibition:
Traveling Through features mixed‑media and assemblage works by Twin Cities–based artist Jeannine Spooner Kitzhaber. Inspired by digital mapping systems and shifting landscapes, Kitzhaber translates GPS imagery and the geometry of urban/suburban grids into tactile compositions using found objects, painting, drawing, and screen‑printing. The work reflects on how technology reshapes our connection to place and captures the transformation of woodlands and prairies into expanding developments.
Artist Background:
Kitzhaber holds a BFA and MFA from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities and taught college art for 25 years. Her map‑based work has been exhibited nationally and is held in private, corporate, and design‑firm collections. This is her first solo exhibition with Strata Gallery.
