About the Opening:
Join us for a community celebration of the exhibition The Same Place at the Same Time: Pueblo Foodways. This opening event will feature food offerings from community collaborators, providing a taste of the traditions and relationships explored in the show.
About the Exhibition:
The exhibition traces collective practices within Taos Pueblo foodways—from seed to ceremony, past to present. Rather than an exhaustive survey, it offers a glimpse into the diverse activities and relationships that define food culture and sovereignty. Co-curator and Indigenous food sovereignty advocate Tiana Suazo emphasizes that food sovereignty encompasses not only control over food sources and agricultural systems but also the preservation of the social, cultural, and religious traditions surrounding food.
