The almost fifty-year legacy of the Takács Quartet is one of constant discovery and rediscovery. The Grammy-award winning group infuses deep richness and fresh insight into each performance, cultivating a “warmth to their sound” (The Washington Post) that makes every concert a treasure. This season, Takács Quartet is joined by bandoneon player Julien Labro for two new commissions by Bryce Dessner and Clarice Assad for quintet. To bring us home, Takács closes the program with Ravel’s String Quartet (1903), the composer’s first masterpiece.
