Acclaimed string quartet Brooklyn Rider presents Citizenship Notes, a program that weaves together musical commentary on civic life across three centuries. The concert opens with the revolutionary spirit of Haydn’s Quartet in F Minor, Op. 20, No. 5, before premiering three new commissions by composers Don Byron, Ted Hearne, and Angélica Negrón. It continues with Colin Jacobsen’s arrangement of Bob Dylan’s iconic The Times They Are A-Changin’ and concludes with the heroic Quartet in C Major, Op. 59, No. 3, the final installment of Beethoven’s groundbreaking “Razumovsky” quartets.
