Date & Time: Friday, February 6, 2026, at 10:45 AM
Location: First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust St. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102
Conductor: Roberto Minczuk, Music Director
Music Director Roberto Minczuk leads the New Mexico Philharmonic strings in a morning concert celebrating the orchestra’s most expressive family. The program begins with the monumental complexity of Beethoven’s Grosse Fugue. It is arranged for string orchestra, then shifts to the wistful elegance of Respighi’s Ancient Airs & Dances. This piece reimagines Renaissance melodies with lush harmonies. The concert concludes with the youthful wit and charm of Britten’s Simple Symphony, based on themes he composed as a child. A masterful showcase of the string section’s versatility.
