Truths Be Told: Artists Activate Traditions
Museum: Museum of International Folk Art
Exhibition Dates: December 7, 2025 – January 7, 2027
Truths Be Told: Artists Activate Traditions highlights a dozen international artists who engage with folk traditions from their communities to critique social inequities, reverse erasure, and act as catalysts for social change. By expanding the boundaries of ceramic, basketry, textile, regalia, and song practices, the exhibition presents complex narratives of how traditions empower communities and function as agents of debate, awakening, cultural revitalization, and imagining a better future.
